FacetoFace Ministries desires to keep all participants safe at United. We will be following any protocols set out by the health authorities in Saskatchewan.

Mandatory Masks: As of Sept 17, all participants need to wear masks at the conference and every indoor public place in Saskatchewan.
- Anyone who has a mask exemption needs to provide a copy of it to FacetoFace in advance of the conference so we are aware. Exemptions need to include the name of the individual to whom the written confirmation of exemption applies; the name of the issuing health professional; the telephone number of the issuing health professional; the signature of the issuing health professional; and the date the written confirmation was provided (Sept 22 Health Order, Section 4f).

What about meals? Knowing we are bringing together youth from different parishes and locations we are taking extra care around meals to reduce risks. Saturday lunch will eaten outside. Any snacks will be eaten outside. The conference will break for Saturday supper; participants are expected to eat off site on their own. Sunday lunch will be given as a to go meal. Essentially, no food will be eaten inside at the conference to avoid unnecessary mask removal.

Group Size? There are no restrictions around the size of the event or social distancing.

Proof of vaccination? After consulting the government, the Diocese of Saskatoon, and Holy Family Cathedral, the United Conference does not need a proof of vaccination. This is because the retreat is happening in a 'place of worship' and serves or aids the life of the church.

Anything else? Our mindset is keep people safe rather than simply do the bare minimum. Thus, there are little tweaks throughout the conference, like single use items instead of everyone touching the same thing. Also, hand sanitizing will be strongly encouraged with many stations throughout the conference.

If any changes to these restrictions occur before United will be updating this section and notifying participants.

If you have any questions or seek clarification please contact Jon Courchene at 306-381-7789.

Why sponsor the United Conference?
We FacetoFace we believe that youth deserve excellent ministry. Running a conference with excellence as a our standard is financially taxing. In order to keep costs at an affordable rate for participants we look for sponsors, such as yourself.

Benefits to sponsors:
Sponsorship is different than donating. Rather than a tax receipt, organizations receive a variety of benefits such as: screen advertising, program advertising, participant passes, spoken thank  you, and being prayed for.

The United Conference was a huge success. Yes, it was different than other years but we are very pleased with what were able to still do and how much grace was poured out during the day. Thanks to everyone who came.

And now we invite you join us for another event, some online and some in person. Check them out and sign up here.

Unique set up and schedule in 2020.
10:30 - 12:00 - Session/Worship Service (Everyone together - 150 people max)
2:00 - 4:30 - Breakout Sessions (5 different locations - 30 person gatherings)
6:30 - 8:30 - Session/Worship Service -  including Eucharistic Adoration (Everyone together - 150 people max)

FacetoFace Ministries is following the proper protocols set out by the health authorities in Saskatchewan.

The particular ones that pertain to the 2 sessions/worship services of the conference are:

  • "The total number of people participating in the services cannot exceed 30 per cent of seating capacity or 150 people, whichever is less." - The Conference will have maximum of 150 people together.
  • "To help ensure safety, individuals must be separated by two metres, unless they are part of the same extended household group." - Participants are to social distance (6 feet) from anyone not in their family or extended household.
  • "However, these [worship] guidelines do not apply to receptions." "Food and beverage service must be suspended at this time." - Participants need purchase their own meals off site as we cannot have that many people together besides for the worship services/sessions.
  • "Where physical distancing is not possible, participants will be required to mitigate the risk by wearing personal protective equipment and increased hand hygiene." - Participants will sanitize their hands regularly. If participants need to be closer than 6 feet for any reason then masks are expected to be worn.
  • "Although not recommended, when singing, participants must wear masks." - Participants need to wear a mask when singing.
  • "Attendees, employees and volunteers are required to stay home if sick or symptomatic." - If someone is feeling ill, please stay home.

The particular ones that pertain to the Breakout Sessions of the conference are:

  • "If physical distancing at a gathering/event is not possible or is unpredictable, attendees should wear a non-medical mask (e.g. cloth or other material)." - If participants need to be closer than 6 feet for any reason then masks are expected to be worn.
